The Costa Almeria is as varied as any of the Spanish Coasts. Known as the Romantic Coast or the "place the sun goes for the winter" it enjoys more hours of sunshine than anywhere else on mainland Spain, less rainfall and MORE hours of daylight than anywhere else! Little wonder artists have been coming here for centuries and now tourists are finding Mojacar a stylish cosmopolitan resort without high rise buildings and crowds.
There are miles and miles of unspoiled beaches, fabulous scenery and here you will still find the real Spain.

Almeria airport is a modern efficient airport and is just an hours drive away.

The coast is completely unspoiled. To the east of Almeria we find the rugged and desolate coast of the Cabo de Gata - Nijar Natural Park. This is an arid desert landscape and the annual rainfall here is less than 200mm. It is sparsely populated with a few villages.

At the north of the Costa de Almeria is the naturist beaches of Vera, a number of new complexes are being constructed here.

Almeria city is worth a visit with the Alcazaba Castle overlooking the metropolis.

The old fishing port town of Adra lies further west. In spite of the interesting castle and assorted archaeological remains, it is often missed by tourists travelling along the coastal motorway to or from the Costa Tropical.

With miles of wide clean sandy beaches Mojacar is fast becoming a cosmopolitan resort whilst retaining its unique charm. Mojacar Pueblo (village) 3 kms above the Playa has spectacular views, narrow winding streets with whitewashed houses, romantic flower bedecked courtyards, and the promise of a surprise around every turn. You can partake in a wide range of watersports on a Blue Flag beach or just relax at one of the chirinquitas (Beachbars), where you will be served cooling drinks to your beach beds. Mojacar enjoys the best climate in Spain with on average, more sunshine.
A unique feature is a regular cool gentle breeze that is so welcome.
Everyone comments on the relaxed pace of life. This is one of the best new holiday destinations for all, whether for a relaxing break or you can go Para gliding, rollerblading, horse riding, snorkeling, scuba diving, crazy golf, bowling, bird watching, quad biking, and Golf, nearby Courses include the unique Desert Springs.

Mojacar Puelo and Playa 'the best kept secret'. Whatever you are looking for Mojacar will charm you. It's easy to see why artists and writers have been captivated by the area for centuries. Mojacar Village with its wonderful history, Moorish architecture, unsurpassed views and its dramatic backdrop of the Cabrera Mountains. Spectacular Fiestas, such as the annual 'Moors and Christians' where enactments take place on the beaches and up in the village, the whole population rebelling in the past.....the unforgettable costumes as they parade down to the Playa. Or just the day to day charms, the wonderful restaurants offering international cuisine and traditional tapas bars hidden down winding streets no wider than a donkey! Coffee (served with the traditional pastry) on the terrace, high above the plains. The weekly 'Market,' where the freshest fruit and vegetables are offered for sale by the growers, handcrafts, leather goods and all manner of items are available as they have been for hundreds of years.

Beautifully positioned, great views, day and night, huge balcony with views of the mountain the playa and the sea. Sunrise and sunset are spectacular. Spacious and spotless, decorative bright and airy apartment with the cosiness of home. Welcome pack of kitchen necessities super start. We have 5 children aged 10-20 years, they all had a wonderful holiday. All amenities ans a variety of restaurants within easy walking distance as was the spotless safe well maintained beach. Old charming hilltop village a taxi ride away well worth a couple of visits. Ingenious attractive ice-cream parlour nearby a must!.Handwritten local information book in this apartment from previous visitors, really helpful and wonderful idea. Owners available by phone extremely helpful and friendly. Overall the destination and the accommodation were faultless, the gentle pace and warm atmosphere, friendly restaurants and bars were all child and teenage friendly. Crowd free, noise free, stress free, commercially low key, get away from it all . I would highly recommend it for families, couples, anyone looking for a real holiday, where even a short week feels like you have gone to paradise for a month!! We are definitely going back again this year. It's the kind of place and apartment that you would want to keep to yourself it's so special and different. Can't fault it at allSo much space!

We had a great time in this apartment, there was so much space we all chilled out and had such a good holiday. The kitchen was very well equipped which was great as we love to cook, the supermarkets have an incredible selection of the finest seafood from fresh lobsters, king prawns, calmares etc.The meat is succulent and reasonably priced . of course there is a fine array of fresh fruit and vegetables many grown in the region, as were some of the wines so we were spoilt for choice. Because we stayed in so much we enjoyed having so many UK TV channels the younger folk loved the WIFI and the pool. All in all the holiday was a great hit and we will be back next year. We have already recommended it to our family.

My wife and i spent a wonderful week in Mojacar in sept. It was our first time there and it wont be our last.We arrived at the lovely apartment to find a welcome pack waiting for us,a spotless apartment ,with everything you could possibly need for yor holiday.Just as you walk out on the balcony you meet this wonderful view and the noise of the rolling sea.a fantastic view of the mountains on one side and the beach on the other. In the apartment we took the time to read about the many places to eat and i can say having tried some of them they where excellent. To sum up a wonderful place to holiday in and made even better by this apartment, a perfect match.

The apartment was all you could ask for. Clean and everything you need to have a great break. If you are looking for a break that has views that take your breath away everytime you look, then this is the place to go. We spent most of our time on the balcony as for us it was the best place to be. The area has a good selection of shop and restaurants and everyone was friendly. A great stay with an apartment that ticked all the boxes

"A little bit of paradise" my family and I had a wonderful two weeks in August 2008. This super apartment was exactly as the friendly owner had described and the lovely photographs suggest. The view from the terrace is really delightfull and the perfect place t eat, sit, relax and drink watching the world go by. The apartment has all you need to make your stay thoroughly comfortable . we spent our days either relaxing on the terrace, swimming in the shared pool or playing on the beach with our sons , aged 8 and 11. The apartment is very well equipped so cooking for a family is easy. We did eat out in some nice restaurants but rather liked having our meals sitting on the terrace where the view looks so pretty, especially at night then we could chat read or play cards.tA car is definitly a good idea if you want to go sightseeing and the road up to the apartment is quite steep however the climb is well worth the effort, as the splendid panoramic views are quite memorable. I would recommend this as an excellent place to stay if you want to getaway from it all and enjoy simple pleasures. We were sad to leave but really felt energised by a most enjoyable holiday. V.T

Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful apartment, the views are really something, especially from the pool where we spent many happy times, we had a great holiday and look forward to going back next year. M.C

We had a great holiday, the apartment was super. It was a treat not to have to drive everywhere , the beach was so close by and we loved the local restaurants.

P.W. We have just come back from a fabulous holiday ,we all had a great time even the teenagers! the apartment was spotlessly clean and exactly as you promised. We really enjoyed the super terraces and loved the location and the beach was so near!!! We will certainly be recommending you to our friends. Its a perfect holiday. ROC 2006

Brilliant Accommodation
This is a fantastic property, fully equipped and with every comfort. It's like a villa with a garden, patio and everything for the beach and pool, which you mostly have exclusive use of. All shops, bars and beach are a short stroll away. The bar opposite is great but not noisy at night, so just right. We took a family group and had a lovely time, thanks to having everything we needed. GB

Thanks again for letting us use your lovely apartment in Mojacar, we all had a great time. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well maintained and had everything that we needed, very efficient air conditioning, swimming pools and just a short walk to the quiet sandy beach. The apartment is in the best part of Mojacar's playa.
Our sixteen year old girls spent a lot of their time near El Cruce in the big newish restaurant / club on the beach, I forget what it's called. We were quite content chilling out after midnight in the local upmarket openair beachside bars and clubs; Tito's, Lua and the club in between! (we really liked Lua). The recent development is very sympathetic to the area. We liked the Paseo which was well lit all night and felt happy that the girls could walk back safely in the early hours. We all thought that your apartment and its location were excellent. So much so that even though we had intended to eat out most evenings we actually did the opposite taking in the fantastic coastal views whilst eating on the terrace and occasionally watching the sunrise too. It was also good to be in a real Spanish holiday resort.
At the end of the first week we took a two day trip out to the Alhambra Palace in Granada, which is an experience that should be on everyone's agenda. Visits to the Palace are timed and need to be booked on line some weeks in advance of the visit. We stayed at the excellent 4* Alhambra Palace Hotel which has an offer on the best doubles (B&B) with views right across the city for just over Eu100 in August if booked in advance, it's just outside the Palace grounds and has free parking. Take a sat/nav with you as driving in Granada is difficult!
We also spent a few evenings at Mojacar Pueblo (the village up on the hill) and watched a number of Flamenco events in the square whilst taking in the views across plains, we were also there for the start of the fiesta on the day before we left. We had great meals (Sea Bass, highly recomended) at the tiny Rincon de Embrujo restaurant / cafe on the plaza infront of the church.
I'd highly recommend the apartment for a relaxing beach holiday. Probably best to have a hire car to explore the area but the public transport is very efficient with buses running every half hour or so up to the village (Pueblo)and along the paseo until the early hours. Iverna, the owner provided great customer service before and during our stay and we would all highly recommend a stay here. Pete, Sue, Louisa and Anna from UK

We stayed in the apartment in the first week of October 2009. It's a really nice, spacious and well equipped place. I would especially recommend it for families with young children as it really has all the home comforts for both looking after the kids and for parents staying in at night. The hill up to the apartment is fairly steep for a pram so we drove most of the time. The terrace is very large and (in October anyway) gets the sun in the morning and evening. The view from the terrace is beautiful. Guest from Dublin

The information provided was 100% accurate and on getting to the appartment we opened the doors to a wonderful sea view. The property was clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. The weather was an added plus, about 25 degrees every day. Despite being the end of the season there was a good variety of bars and restaurants within walking distance. No matter where we went we were made to feel very welcome. Iverna supplied accurate directions and was always on hand, via e-mail, to answer any questions with a very speedy response. I would definatly recommend this property to my friends but not at the time I wanted to use it. We had such a relaxing time that I felt well refreshed and ready for the manics of Christmas. Thank you for letting us use your home. Radcliffe, Manchester

We stayed at this apartment for a week in early Summer 2009.
We didnt know what to expect as we had never stayed in Mojacar before.
We needn't have worried as both the apartment and the resort were excellent. Each night we found different restaurants and bars and enjoyed each one.
The morning walk to the local supermarket to get fresh bread along the promonade was a joy each day.
The apartment was conveniently located, very close to the beach and ample shops and restaurants .
The apartment had all the facilities required for an enjoyable holiday. The views from the balcony need a special mention as especially in the evening the views were simply stunning.
A visit to the inland Majcar village is a must especially on market day. During the week we travelled with the car up and down the coast from the resort. Each place we visited had something to offer.
We had a lovely week and would highly recoomend both the apartment and the resort of Mojacar Playa. Kerry & Angela, Wales

Review Submitted: January 10, 2011 Date of Stay: December 2010
Me and my husband were absolutely delighted with the apartment and our holiday in Almeria. This was a surprise a 50th birthday so I wanted it to be special. We arrived on the 27th December and left on 3rd January. We could see the new year fireworks along the front from our apartment the view was fantastic, we were not disappointed with anything. The apartment was exceptionally clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. The weather varied between 7-13 degrees during the day which was great for us as we are not so keen on it being too hot and planned on sight seeing (The Good The Bad and the ugly locations)!. Occaisionally the sun burst through and was wonderful just chilling outside the cafes and drinking a coffee with the locals. The nights where cooler to 5 -7 degrees but comfortable enough to walk along the front to the cafes and bars. Just a very short distance Mojacar is wonderful with small cafes and great views , it is well worth a visit. The beaches around the area were quiet (we preferred this) due to the winter season and everywhere was noticably clean. Great for small or big kids frisby throwing and playing ball etc. We flew into Alicante airport from Manchester but a quick and easy 2 hours drive to the apartment.Mini Hollywood and Tabernas was everything we expected and made our holiday .We have come away with fantastic memories. We would highly recommend this apartment and thank you again Iverna and Martha.
